Meet Stella Barry: A Vibrant Young Woman Who Sees Life in Color

We met Stella Barry, a 20-year-old swimsuit model from Melbourne, during our interview with Jay Reimers and we were immediately struck by her colorful outlook on life. Stella has a laugh that lights up every time she does it. We couldn't help but wonder what her life was like behind that bright smile.

"I think it's so important to see life in color," Stella says. "Everything is so much more vibrant and beautiful that way. I mean, who wants to see the world in black and white?"

Describe one of your beach looks in which you feel particularly confident and energetic.

I definitely feel confident and energetic in my swimwear when I'm wearing something bright and colorful. I love matching bold colors such as pinks, blues, and greens. I think it's because the colors make me feel happy and they also remind me of all the fun times I've had at the beach.

What is your favorite thing about swimwear?

I love that swimwear is so versatile. You can dress it up or down, depending on the occasion. For example, you can wear a swimsuit to the beach or pool, but you can also wear it to a party or even a nightclub. I prefer any swimsuit bikini or one piece that has a fun/unique cut to it as I feel like it can really compliment your body in ways you haven’t seen it before as well as accentuate your body's key features.

...and your favorite accessory?

[Stella laughs..., in such a brilliant way that it's hard not to be captivated.] "Sunglasses!! They are by far my favorite accessory as I feel they can always give off a lot of creative flairs and complement any outfit for any occasion. Plus, they also protect your eyes from the sun!"

Do you have any advice for women who want to feel confident in their swimwear?

"My advice would be to find a style that suits your body type and makes you feel comfortable. Once you've found the perfect swimsuit, don't be afraid to experiment with different colors and prints. And most importantly, have fun! when I am struggling with bad self-image days I just try to remind myself of all the wonderful things my body does for me and that it is fully deserving of my love and care every single day. Finally give proper weight to people's judgment, especially on Insta, sometimes it's hard, but you just have to remind yourself that people will always have an opinion about you whether you post pictures on social networks or not, so you just have to stay true to yourself and own your actions."

Are you planning to travel somewhere? Or do you want to relax and enjoy some free time with your friends?

"I'm so excited to go to Hawaii and learn how to surf better," Stella says. "I've always loved the ocean, but I've never really had the opportunity to learn how to surf. I'm really looking forward to it."

 "I love so many but some of my stand-out brands are Sky Ocean, Princess Polly, Seafolly, and Osmosis swimwear."
